RCAgent - User guide [Work in Progress]

The Setup

I'll use my current setup as an example.

I have the program installed on the SPV M700 (HTC P3600 - HTC Trinity) which is connected directly to the car battery. The connection is via a 3way cigarette lighter adapter with a USB port, so there was no need to modify the smartphone; I simpley used the normal mini-usb cable to keep it permanently connected inside the (back) boot of my car (next to the spare wheel).

RTResolver

Android application to automatically "resolve" latitude/longitude coordinates (received via SMS) to addresses . It will also resolve CellID information received from RemoteTracker.

Once a message has been received, it will show a status notification with the resolved address - It has no other visible interface/window.

The application uses Google's APIs to resolve GPS Coordinates into addresses (therefore it will use the devices network data connection).

Remote Control Agent (RCAgent)

Introduction

This is a GPS Tracker software for the Windows Mobile platform, written using C# and compatible with .Net Compact Framework 2.0 and above.

The purpose of this software is to accept commands remotely sent to the device using various services (currently only SMS) to configure and get its current geographic position (Latitude/Longitude).
The software has no visible interface on the device as it will be controlled remotely; this would allow me to place the device anywhere without the need for any "local" maintenance.

New website!

I was deciding between WordPress 3 and Drupal 7 and concluded that Drupal 7 is probably the best option for me as I know the system well and have been using Drupal 6 for a while.

The new version looks a lot better with many improvements. The reason I chose it over WordPress is due to its flexibility, security and control. I will be putting up my latest Software development projects here.

I am currently working on the GPS Tracker (for Windows Mobile 6) which was planned last year but just couldn't get around to it until few months ago.
